Parnevik poised to quitFormer European Ryder Cup player Jesper Parnevik is facing discount golf clubs retirement after undergoing surgery on a back injury.The Florida-based Swede has been told that he requires another taylormade r9 driver operation to undergo joint fusion that would almost certainly end his career. The 44-year-old had played four tournaments in America this year but had to withdraw from the Northern Trust Open last week after callaway x-22 irons shooting an opening 68. Parnevik, who finished second in the Open Championship in 1994, had surgery on a hip injury last year in a bid to prolong his ailing career.
